About Matthew Wesley

As a Principal at the Lovins Group, work with some of the most prominent families in the world as they seek to realize the full promise of wealth in their individual and collective lives. My work is grounded in applied theory, proven models, and innovative approaches all designed to effect rapid and sustained cultural change. I help families break through the assumptions that bind individual and group effectiveness and from there, work with families to design and implement approaches that enhance family dynamics, decision-making, learning, and performance. My goal is to empower individuals and families by developing the capacities and capabilities they need not only to address the problems of today but to meet the challenge of tomorrow. I am honored to be an internationally recognized practitioner, thought leader and speaker on the issues facing financially successful families. With a career that spans 34 years as an estate planning attorney, family advisor, facilitator, and consultant, I help families address the complex issues of family enterprises, legacy wealth, and collective philanthropy. I hold a JD from Stanford University and M.Div. from Fuller Theological Seminary. I live near Seattle with my wife, Marcia. We have two grown children and three grandchildren. I am an avid reader and hiker. Other interests include film, poetry, cooking, and meditation.
