As the VP of engineering at SunStream I lead all of the engineering practices to include QA, Development, Architecture, DevSecOps and Data and Business Intelligence. SunStream Business Services is a managed IT service provider that works with Farm Credit lending institutions that support farmers and ranchers. We work together (in)Trust to create reliable back-office systems.The solution we provide as an employer is trust. Like our platforms, trust must be built. My role, as a servant leader, is to help teams help themselves to be better at the craftsmanship of writing, maintaining, scaling, designing and delivering software and technology. While at the same time making sure that teams are doing work that is customer-centric, both internal and external. Guiding and mentoring my teams to become the future leaders as they progress in their development careers. Fostering not only the concrete skills but the soft skills. I've lead over seas teams, onsite teams, and remote teams. I currently lead a team of technologists working across a broad spectrum of technologies and practices leveraging Agile development methodologies and CI for rapid release and deployment, on cloud-based technologies leveraging azure. I am a certified Scrum master and have been living in a SAFe world for several years. I am a HUGE advocate for Agile management frameworks and product forward thinking. I've seen the processes be transformative to organizations and couldn't be a bigger advocate. Truth be told I don't think I would work anywhere that wasn't agile. I crave working on cutting edge solutions. Challenging traditional norms and traditional user interfaces and approaches to problems."That's what we've always done" is a catalyst for change.
