About Matthew Williamson

I started my career in the golf industry, and spent two years working as a crew member/leader. I spent the last four years of my time as an Assistant Superintendent. I really enjoyed the daily challenge and the reward of providing a great playing surface. I took some time away from the landscaping scene, and transitioned into the restaurant industry for a few years. During this time I took on a Kitchen Manager role for the Chilis brand. I loved the team aspect of the kitchen and the huge daily challenge of overcoming the tasks that were necessary to provide a great meal and experience. It was not until I had a friend of a friend contact me about a position with a landscaping company that I evaluated getting back into the green industry. I looked into the company that he was working for at the time (Brickman), and decided to interview for a crew leader position. I had never truly lost the passion for working outdoors with my hands and the elements. I was offered the job and accepted in November of 2015. Since that time I have been a part of a huge transformation of the company as Brickman merged with ValleyCrest to form Brightview. I moved up after a year as a crew leader and took on a Associate Production Manager role which I did for about 6 months before i was offered the Production Manager position at RDU International Airport in Raleigh NC. Along the way there have been a lot of people that have helped with my journey and many tough moments that taught me invaluable lessons that I will carry with me the rest of my life. I have found the best of both worlds because I have one of the greatest teams out there, and I get a chance everyday to change the way people look at the world.
