About Matthew Wolf-Meyer
I am currently Professor of Science and Technology Studies at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. Previously, I have served as a Senior Research Fellow in the Institute for Advanced Study at Tampere University in Finland and as an Associate Professor in Anthropology at Binghamton University in the State University of New York system. Additionally, I previously held faculty positions at Wayne State University and the University of California, Santa Cruz (UCSC). My research and scholarship focus on American science and medicine - particularly neuroscience and psychiatry - and draws on ethnographic research with physicians, researchers, and patients, as well as archival and textual sources. My work contributes to critical medical anthropology, science and technology studies, and the history of science and medicine.
