About Matthew Woolsey

All forms of construction consulting- cost estimating, construction management, market analysis, development and investment analysis, database estimating, quantity takeoff services, etc. I grew up around construction with a spec home builder and construction manager father. After working as a house painter, mason and general laborer throughout High School, I joined the United States Coast Guard and gained valuable commercial HVAC experience while stationed in Ketchikan Alaska. Once out of the Coast Guard I was employed as a service and commercial plumbing and heating technician helping plumb and heat several large schools and major hotel developments in Southeast Alaska, as well as operating as a service plumber throughout Ketchikan, Petersburg, Wrangell and Juneau. After a brief stint with the City of Ketchikan's Wastewater Division I moved back home to Bellingham with my Wife, Randi, to start my first business- a General Contracting company called Hometown Maintenance and Repair. At Hometown I began to specialize in difficult home repair projects- water intrusion and mold, rotting structural members- I found a niche in the jobs other contractors did not want to do. After the construction industry was hit hard by the recession- business began to slow, but- the Construction Consulting company that my Father started 25 years prior continued to flourish on the abundant public construction work. Rory and I decided to join forces in an attempt to grow The Wool-Zee Company. After several fruitful years I sought arrangements to takeover at The Wool-Zee Company as Rory had a lucrative offer elsewhere- and the company was reorganized as The Woolsey Company. In 2013 my good and talented friend Jake Knapp and I started C9 Photography seeking to leverage Jake's amazing photography talents into a sizable and profitable business. C9 Photography now has 3 photographers and a devoted editor.
