About Matthew Zeaser

I have a passion for modern technology and a drive to create new inventions for the betterment of society, so I knew electrical engineering was the right choice for me. I am a junior at Penn State University and enjoy my studies inside the classroom, but I also find balance by staying involved outside of the classroom. I have learned valuable mentorship skills while serving as an Engineering Orientation Network mentor, mentoring first-year students entering the College of Engineering. Another major commitment of mine is my involvement with Atlas benefitting THON. In my leadership role in Atlas, I have already learned how to effectively work in a team environment with a diverse group of individuals by planning events and setting up restaurant fundraisers. In my three years working at Wegmans growing up, I have learned how to successfully navigate interactions with customers and management in my role as a cashier, I had to work diligently, while also striving to meet the needs of the customer while bagging and scanning their groceries. On top of these valuable people skills, in my time as a cart associate at Wegmans, I learned how to lead, as I was often the most experienced team member on shift. I was also often responsible for training new associates, which gave me a new understanding of teamwork and leadership skills. My time at Penn State as well as my time serving as a Wegmans associate have provided me with soft skills to pair with my technical skills. I am a hard-working, team-oriented, leader, who hopes to become an electrical engineer to make the world a better place.
