About Matthieu Moncan

I specialized my educational background on fields such as cell biology, human genetics and immunology. I wish to continue my professional career in research and development to participate to the conception and progression of innovating scientific projects and solutions for the future. The objectives of my research are to - Understand the molecular basis of genetic diseases. Results of these researches are useful to:(1) Create new therapeutic screening to better stratify patients and to propose new targeted therapies;(2) discover new therapeutic targets for diseases involving the same cellular pathways;(3) develop new genetic models which will be useful to validate the efficiency of new candidate drugs- Test new molecules which can impact cellular pathways recently identified as involved in human diseases. The discovery and validation of these new molecules in human cell lines is at the basis of the development of new drugs at the benefit of patients. I do not hesitate to place my skills at the services of biological or health projects outside the field of research. In 2020, during the Covid-19 pandemic, I had the privilege to offer my skills to the Compiègne-Noyon Hospital in order to improve their molecular biology services. My objectif was to setup a new Covid qPCR testing platform to answer to the growing demand of tests during the pandemic. Once the platform was ready and validated by the hospital biologists, I took care of the training of technicians to ensure the sustainability of the platform after my departure. Finally, I developed excellent skills of scientific vulgarization to communicate science to both researchers and public audience to disseminate the last results of research literature to the many.
