About Mattia Leone

Mattia Leone, Architect and PhD in Building Technology and Environmental Design, is Associate Professor in Architectural Technology at the Department of Architecture (DiARC) and Senior Researcher at PLINIVS-LUPT Study Centre at the University of Naples Federico II (UNINA). His main research activities concern sustainable design and technological retrofitting of buildings and public spaces, with particular reference to environmental design and building technologies for Disaster Risk Reduction and Climate Change Adaptation. He is author of several publications in the last decade on these topics, also as outcomes of the many research activities carried out at national, European (FP7, Horizon2020) and international (UCCRN ARC3-2, UNISDR) level. Co-Director of the European Hub of the Urban Climate Change Research Network (UCCRN, Secretary of the Chapter Campania-Calabria of the Italian Green Building Council (GBC-Italia, and associate at SITdA (Italian Society of Architectural Technology, Visiting scholar at University of Cambridge (UK), ENSA-Paris Belleville (FR), Columbia University (US) between 2013 and 2015. Since 2014 he is involved in the teaching activities of the “Urban Design Studio” and “Urban Climate Lab Design Studio” at the New York Institute of Technology (NYIT). As a member of UCCRN - Urban Climate Change Research Network, he is in the Coordination Board of the UCCRN European Hub and Scientific Responsible of the Climate Resilient Urban Design Workshop series, exploring multi-scale sustainable and resilient urban design strategies through advanced applications of GIS and parametric design tools. https://scholar.google.com/citations?hl=it & & view_op=list_works & sortby=pubdate
