About Maureen Harris

As Vice President of Major Gifts, I build philanthropic relationships to help provide what's needed, where it's needed for our neighbors in Central Maryland. I am proud to be a member of United Way of Central Maryland's team as we celebrate 100 years of advancing equity, opportunity, and access for all. With over 15 years of experience in nonprofit leadership, I spent four years advancing the mission and vision of Johns Hopkins Howard County Medical Center as the Director of Development. In this role, I oversaw fundraising and community engagement strategies, including major gifts, annual giving, grants, events, and communications. I worked closely with the hospital's senior leadership, board of trustees, staff, and volunteers to cultivate and steward relationships with donors and partners, and to increase the awareness and impact of the hospital's services and programs. I also leveraged my Master's degree in Teacher Leadership and my previous experience as the Executive Director of the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Columbia, where I led the strategic planning, governance, and administration of a faith community. I am committed to fostering a culture of philanthropy, collaboration, and excellence in everything I do.
