Background
About Maureen Hascher
While the core of my specialty is to get people (attract, hire, and retain), my endeavors to “get” people (understand, engage, develop, and connect) are far more important. Like many, I fell into talent operations. Years ago, with education degree in hand, my career compass was still spinning. I went to a staffing agency to be placed in a few roles and, perhaps, discover my path. The branch manager took a chance and hired me on the spot to be a recruiter. It was such a fortunate experience for me – maybe not so much for her… In her endeavors to expand my talents, she encouraged me to pursue sales leads. We soon found ourselves tromping through a mud lot in our heels talking to a farmer who needed temporary help. In the end, we could not staff such a venture, but my manager knew that going in. She let me spread my wings while providing a safety net. This was one of the first of many leadership lessons I have borrowed throughout my career. While I did not pursue a teaching career, I have come to terms with the fact that I have a lifelong thirst for growth and development for myself and others. I am an ENFJ with strengths of strategic, communication, individualization, woo, and relator, so I am inclined to want to understand people and help them grow. I often hear, “you are so diplomatic” but I also have “driver” in me. I try to use diplomacy to share the information that is crucial for development while not easy or desirable to discuss. In other words, I am effective at conveying the “big picture”, dealing with the tough stuff and getting things done.Outside of work, I can be found spending time with my loved ones, teaching online at SNHU, playing volleyball, running (Boston Marathon 2021 Finisher/ BQ-ed at Boston) and finding a way to get back in the co-driver seat of a rally car. I look forward to connecting to network, dish on employee experience strategies, or just to chat about shared hobbies.
