About Maureen Stark

Don't glance over me when you see I have only attained an Associates degree. In the 1980's, MLT's were the mainstay of the clinical laboratory. I trained at a solid medical college and my lab rotations comprised of 32 hour work week for 11 months at Jeanes Hospital and Fox Chase Cancer center in Phila, Pa. I have 15 years experience in Medical Microbiology with Quest Diagnostics in Horsham, Pa. It's been 20 years, but I truly believe I can sit down and read cultures without skipping a beat. The next stage of my career introduced me to Pathology in the Histology lab. I enjoyed being in a hospital environment again. I worked at Swedishamerican Hsp in Rockford, IL and Central Dupage Hsp. in Winfield, IL. While at SwedishAm, I worked 1.5 years in Cancer registry. The skills I learned here have been foundational to my current position. After taking care of my parents, I switched gears and really stretched to take on the role of Project Specialist for Custom Peptides at ThermoFisher. My territory was half of North America. I believe this position equipped me with the knowledge and skills that a Bachelor's degree would have provided. Moving across the country, I relocated to Arizona to work at Roche Tissue Diagnostics (Ventana Medical Systems). After working for 5 years as a Histotechnician here, I transferred to the Biorepository where I lead the direct acquisition business for FFPE tissue blocks. It is not my goal to add the alphabet after my name, especially at the educational level that I hold, but here are my certifications and qualifications. MLT(ASCP)HT,QBRS cm
