About Maurice Haff

Millennials are setting the cornerstone for life in the 21st Century. I believe that fostering among them an entrepreneurial mindset and a passion for innovation will provide the best pathway toward creating value and abundance within our society. I am an innovation and entrepreneurship educator at the University of Central Oklahoma. I help my students learn the constructs of innovation and how to develop an entrepreneurial mindset in all facets of their lives. I combine my understanding of intellectual property (IP) with my entrepreneurial skills to show them how to create and launch new ventures. I guide and mentor my students as innovators and entrepreneurs, connecting to foster creativity, understanding, motivation and interdisciplinary collaboration. I am an entrepreneur actively engaged in commercialization of a portfolio of patents directed to electrospinning technologies and related biomedical applications. I am co-founder of ParaNano, LLC and its subsidiary companies, ParaNano Wound Care, LLC. and ParaNanoLabs, LLC. These companies are engaged in development and commercialization of bioactive nanofiber membranes for detection and treatment of infection in wounds. I am an IP professional and registered U. S. Patent Agent, with experiential knowledge of the entrepreneurial process gained in four startup ventures. I have engaged in creating, building, and commercializing technology based products, and developing business focused IP. As an entrepreneur and patent professional I am engaged in realizing value from IP in the technology sector, including IP rights formation, commercializing patentable technology from R&D, building strong patent portfolios, monetizing patents, and creating value for society. I understand inventive processes well and the challenges faced by inventors in creating and protecting marketable technology. I am co-inventor on 22 commercially valuable U.S. patents. My granted patents have been cited by over 1250 subsequent U.S. patents and licensed by more than a twenty major technology companies. I am focused on creating value that will impact the lives of people in meaningful ways.
