About Maurice Pitel

I'm co-founder and COO of YONA Robotics, a perception and decision-making software company for mobile robotics. Coming from INRIA research laboratory, with which we actively collaborate, our technology is based on artificial intelligence and probabilistic reasoning. It enables robots to navigate autonomously in outdoor or indoor, complex, dynamic, uncertain and human-populated environments. With over 35 years' experience in embedded software, I worked as a digital systems architect and innovation project manager at Schneider Electric, a world leader in energy and automation. There, I studied and implemented virtual validation and digital twin concepts applied to electrical distribution and industry, as well as technologies for integrating more intelligence and connectivity into products while respecting operating safety, security and cybersecurity constraints. I'm passionate about the technological and scientific challenges linked to the Internet of Things, artificial intelligence and robotics. I'm also involved in disseminating knowledge and research results in these fields, through publications and conferences. My aim is to contribute to the innovation and development of solutions that improve the lives of people and organizations and generate economic activity in our region.
