About Mawata Kamara

I work very hard in my academics with a passion for learning. I take initiative to challenge myself and do my best work while bringing a curiosity for learning new information into each class. This is mostly shown in my 3.9 GPA and 4.0 PSEO GPA. Although these accomplishments alone are fantastic, I have reached them while taking rigorous courses like HP English 9, HP English 10, HP Science 9, HP Chemistry, and Advanced Placement U.S. History. My junior year, I sought out PSEO and am taking a full load of content courses at the college level, like Freshman English, College Algebra, World History, Economics and Government.Not only do I succeed in my academics, but in my athletics as well. I have risen as an important member of the Park Center Girls Varsity Soccer Team. I step up as a leader by encouraging teammates through workouts, leading by example in focusing and working hard through each drill, and studying the game to become a better athlete and teammate in various systems and plays. I have served as captain for the last three years. In addition to my academic and athletic success, I enjoy being active in extracurriculars. I serve through membership on the Student Board as the Park Center Senior High representative. I speak with the School Board on various issues and give a report of highlights from our school community a number of times through the school year. Additionally, I am a member of the Model United Nations club where I get to interact in various competitions contemplating solutions to global issues.Lastly, I am a mature, well-rounded, welcoming, and fun young person. I know how to work through busy times managing my stress and responsibilities in a way that is healthy. I pursue my interests and like to give back to my community. I have close friends and family. I am so truly proud of the well-rounded, compassionate, responsible, and motivated young woman that I am. I believe that I will be very successful in my future endeavors.
