About Max Baumgardner

As a market medical director at TeamHealth, I oversee the emergency medicine, pediatric emergency medicine, hospitalist medicine, and emergency department observation service lines for AdventHealth campuses in Central Florida. With over 16 years of experience as an emergency physician and a board certification in emergency medicine, I have the expertise and knowledge to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in a fast-paced and complex environment. I am a passionate and motivated leader who believes in servant leadership and team-based collaboration. I have successfully designed and implemented observation medicine into the free-standing emergency departments, creating improvements in metrics such as patient cost, length of stay, resource utilization, and financial performance. I have also helped create and lead innovative processes for patient care during the Covid-19 and other capacity crises. My goal is to continue to solve challenging problems, develop clinically integrated pathways, and enhance the patient experience and outcomes.
