About Max Besseling

Hi, my name is Max and I am an art director, visual development and concept artist on videogames and movies for 15 years now.* I currently work as a senior concept artist again and my main skillset of visual development work and pre-production concept works for characters and environment always has a focus on holistic and believable worldbuilding.* The focus of my art direction work lies between project planning/team management, artistic project oversight on the art direction side and ranges from visual development for pre-production and pitch decks to classic concept art responsibilities. In the past I had the chance to work with talented people from numerous studios around the world, for small teams and for larger teams like; Warner, Grinding Gear Games, Rocksteady, NetherRealm, Colossal Order, Atomhawk, Tokkun, West Studio, Kabam, Innogames, Airship Images, Threaks, Daedalic, and more My greatest passion is creating living and breathtaking worlds. I love finding ways to make the products core stand out through all aspects of design to ensure a coherent vision. Past employers describe me as diligent, analytical, fast and hard working. I love providing art with a high level of believability while incorporating creative and individual design elements to enrich player immersion.
