About Max Chan

I am an experienced senior with demonstrated extensive professional experience for the ESG and green infrastructure field, at both public and private sectors. As one of the regional pioneers in the ESG field, I have gained professional exposure in the ESG and green projects, covering multilateral green product development, green finance, greenfield ESG project development, due diligence and ESG investments, across the global and regional markets. I was privileged to contribute the regional green development in the past decades through: i. Kick-started the ESG journey of the Executives’ Meeting of East Asia-Pacific Central Banks (EMEAP). ii. Project initiation and EOI/proposal submission on Waste-to-Energy (WTE) projects to state and local government of emerging countries including Vietnam, Malaysia, Bangladesh, Thailand, Indonesia, Brazil, Hong Kong and China. Due diligence and tender participation in the tender of the country first waste management projects (RDF, and WTE) in UAE, Vietnam, Indonesia, Hong Kong. Introduction of new green technologies into the region, via commercial collaboration with technology providers and waste management companies, as well as acquisition and integration. I had completed the acquisition of Memsys, which is a German company providing Vacuum Multi Effect Membrane Distillation (V-MEMD) and commercialise the technology in the Mainland China. iv. Development of investment framework focusing on equities and alternative investments covering some of the first regional green and ESG products, with capacity of data analysis and research, in one of the first Asian single-family office. Amidst the professional experience across the policy making, commercial and investment, in both commercial and public field, I have strong, outstanding, specialised, and extensive network which is necessary for the completed and successful ESG and green projects and developments. I am proficient in initiation of new teams and new initiatives and very strong adoptability with both of international and emerging exposure. I have strong ability to stay at the forefront of the market and I am equipped with broad range of expertises, including green investment and policy analysis, data analysis & management, investment management, corporate finance, merger and acquisition, and risk management.
