About Max Cohen

Over the last eight years, I have had the opportunity to work in multiple industries. I have worked for St. Louis Bread Company, The Home Depot, and Antennas Direct; each of these jobs provided me with insight in the work force and taught me new skills that I will be able to carry over into my professional career. A few of the skills that I have been able to improve were my interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills. When I find myself with some free time, I like to spend it challenging my mind by thinking of different business opportunities. An additional, extracurricular activity that I like to participate in involves working on a variety of hands-on projects. While attending Truman State University I took the opportunity to join a Service Fraternity named Alpha Phi Omega. In the fraternity I accepted the position of philanthropy chair. In this position, I led a small team as we planned and carried out multiple fundraising events, such as a St. Baldricks fundraising event and participating in the Adair County Relay for Life. For the St. Baldricks event, we worked on informing the community about St. Baldricks research into childhood cancers and putting together an event. The event was called Brave the Shave and we shaved the heads of volunteers. These volunteers raised money via donations in the time leading up to the event. We also accepted donations of hair for the production of wigs for cancer patients. At the Relay for Life event, my team and I sold edible cookie dough while also getting other members of our organization involved in the event as a whole.
