Geologist/Geoscientist using physics, math, numerical simulation, experiments, tomography, data analysis, and chemistry to better understand cave formation and dissolutional pattern formation. Also interested in imaging problems related to Geology, including utilizing X-Ray tomography, neutron tomography, SAR/GPR, and photogrammetry.As a graduate student and postdoctoral research scientist I learned programming, data acquisition, design of experimental apparatus, computed tomography, image analysis, statistical analysis, and signal processing applied to scientific problems. Through these works I have given presentations at international conferences, published papers and a book, acquired grant funding and use of international scientific facilities, and supervised Ph.D. students. Currently, I am a Geoscientist/Data Scientist at Lunasonde, aiding in the development of low frequency radars for subsurface imaging.Particular skills I have developed throughout are: programming in C, C++, Python, Perl, and shell scripting, including use of computational libraries in each and development of custom libraries; development of numerical models; image analysis with Python/Cython with SciPy and scikit-image; analysis of spatial data including point clouds and tomographic volumes; statistical analysis including regression modeling and statistical significance testing; use of GIS including spatial statistics; experimental design; development of microfluidic systems; and systems administration of Windows networks, Linux/*BSD/macOS workstations, and networking.
