Geospatial Data Scientist by day - working on vegetation modelling from high resolution satellite imagery at Overstory - and podcaster at "Minds Behind Maps" by night, I'm interested in building products that have a real-world impact with satellite imagery, while helping others telling their stories & spreading the word on how they do it throughout my podcast. I have deploying & maintained pipelines processing high resolution (50cm+) optical imagery; worked Remote Sensing Engineer at ICEYE (using SAR imagery) being one of the earliest engineers to work on their flood monitoring product (from the early days of ad hoc deliveries to building & scaling up satellite imagery processing pipelines. In non-jargon terms: how do we tell where the flood happened, and how deep it is it; as fast as possible to people who don't care about satellite imagery)."Minds Behind Maps" is a podcast I started to have longer conversation with some of the most interesting people in the Earth Observation & Geospatial industry. I strongly believe that satellite imagery is changing the world, but that we also need to get better at telling the stories of how it's happening. Long form conversations are the medium I have found to tell these stories, allowing us to set the context, explain the messiness & complexity of certain topics.
