Background
About Max McGibbon
He loves tennis" If you asked one hundred of my friends or colleagues about me, that's probably what ninety nine of them would reply (one or two of them might mention I've got a penchant for History) My love of tennis drove me to many of my early personal accomplishments in life, such as tournament wins and making great friendships and memories among my fellow players. This love of tennis soon transitioned into a passion for passing on knowledge to others, and began to lead to many of my professional accomplishments. This passion stayed with me throughout my early years in the industry, including spending 6 months working as a Tennis Professional with Neilson Active Holidays before I began studying for my Dual Honours BA in History and Ancient History (2:1) from Cardiff University. While at University I became heavily involved in the tennis club across my three years. My first year led to me winning the Intra-club league, while my Second year led to my first committee position organising the league I had won the previous year. My greatest achievement so far came in my 3rd year, becoming President of the tennis cub for the Year 2017-2018. During this time I expanded our court space, funding and membership. The club crowned the year by winning the Athletic Union Club of the year prize, while I received Athletic Honours from the University for my work with the Tennis Club. As soon as I left University I accepted a postion at Woking Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club as a resident coach, where I have worked since 2018. Since then I have worked with several Regional standard junior players, built up a dedicated client base, and received an award from Sport Woking for my work at Woking Park Tennis and the Surrey Youth Games. These experiences within my love of tennis have forced me to develop skills such as administrative and computer skills (Court booking and timetable organisation), Social and customer relations (retaining and recruiting new members and 1-1 clients), Finance experience (approving expenses and rationing several thousand pounds of club funds to the correct avenues). So while the short answer may be "he loves tennis", that passion for tennis has led to the best moments of my personal life, as well as my professional career, and I truly hope that comes across in this Summary.
