About Max Nuij

My fascination with technology and engineering has always been central to my life. Whether it's Max wanting an extension cord for his 6th birthday, or me staying up late at home to put together a website or CMS system for my parents' business, to my love for the latest gadgets, it's never too crazy for me! In my educational choices, I surprisingly opted for economics. With great pleasure, I eventually completed the Financial Services Management program and started my career at a financial services provider. Soon after graduating, I realized that I missed the technical challenge in my work. I quickly discovered that I spoke both the language of the developer and understood the needs of the business. Thus, I broadened my knowledge and took on the role of Business Analyst. Bridging the gap between IT and the business is what energizes me! Still involved with IT and closely connected to the business! After several successful projects, my ideas and vision on "how it should actually be" continued to grow. I wanted to get more out of our team! When the opportunity arose, I took on the role of Product Owner of a development team, with the task of facilitating the team as best as possible in the complex environment in which they operate, and building and bringing the product vision and strategy to life. Still between the developers and the business, but now with the mandate needed to develop a beautiful vision and facilitate the team to bring out the best in themselves. In a year, we have grown from "a team of five" to "five teams"! In total, a group of over 20 colleagues! The shared product backlog is growing! We have never been so far in empirically developing the software solutions we offer! In recent years, by taking on various roles, I have been able to develop in different roles on both the business and IT sides. I have been able to develop in the areas of leadership and creating a common vision for the teams. The main drivers for me in performing my work are: inclusivity, diversity, quality, transparency, vulnerability, accessibility, and above all: FUN!
