I am excited to announce that I am ready to explore new career opportunities. With an exemplary academic background, military service, and hospitality career in luxury establishments, I hope to bring a unique blend of skills and experience that will contribute to a dynamic team at a forward thinking and internationally oriented organization. I grew up in a highly creative and multi-lingual household. I could read in French before I could read in English. This in-depth early exposure to the French language, along with continued support from my family, imbued me with a fascination and curiosity about other languages and cultures. During high school, I worked at a local artisan bakery. Starting before sunrise and working long hours was grueling but listening to hard-crusted bread crackling just out of the oven, and the smell of fresh Madeleines, still inspires me. After high school, I worked at a local French Bistro. I was attracted to the discipline and regimentation of the French kitchen so, I decided to pursue the culinary arts as a career. I moved to New York City at the age of 19 to study under Jacques Pépin at The French Culinary Institute and then spent the next 8 years in top rated restaurants and hotels, including The Ritz Carlton. But did I want to work in the food service or hospitality industry for the rest of my life? I chose to leave the culinary world behind and joined the Florida Army National Guard to renew my education and uncover new opportunities. My decision turned into a vocation. There is no question that the skills and confidence I acquired during my military training and service, including 3 active-duty deployments, as well as 3 state hurricane relief missions, have sharpened my focus and given me the tools to self-actualize and enflesh my goals. Working with resolute and proficient people to accomplish a shared mission has been a source of immense joy for me. My success in reaching this momentous opportunity is a direct result of discipline, attention to detail, and a strong work ethic, honed through eight years in the luxury hospitality industry and nine years in the military, including six separate humanitarian and defense missions. Now with a foundation in the field of International Studies, specifically focused on European and Caribbean affairs, I am eager to use my knowledge and abilities to address current and critical challenges.
