About Max Trauernicht
After completing a B.Sc. in Biomedical Engineering and an M.Sc. in Biomedical Sciences, I joined the lab of Bas van Steensel at the Netherlands Cancer Institute in 2019 as a Ph.D. student, developing high-throughput genomics tools to study transcription factors. This work led to an optimized platform that measures transcription factor activity with unprecedented scale and resolution and supports mechanistic drug discovery. As a postdoctoral researcher, I am further advancing this platform to uncover disease mechanisms and translational applications. In 2025, I participated in the Health Holland Venture Challenge to explore valorization opportunities and develop a business strategy for these tools.
