About Max Vinger

I am a student from Sweden with a passion for science, education, and democracy. Currently, I am studying for a master’s degree in computer engineering and education. My passion for education started during my own education and grew exponentially when I started working as a middle school science teacher in 2017. The teaching experience is what made me go into my current master’s degree in education. I hope to use my degree to help bring the scientific field forward as a researcher or improve education in the world in some other way. I have previously hade several positions of trust. One of these was as a the president of the Swedish Federation of Young Scientists where I have almost ten years of experience working to promote the interest in science for youth. Another position I've had was as a member of the Student Council of the Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences (IVA). As a member, I represented my university KTH Royal Institute of Technology. In the Student Council, I also represented us in the IVA thematic council of World-class Knowledge. Focusing on prerequisites for schools, attitudes towards knowledge and learning, as well as conditions for research, higher education, and lifelong learning. My passion for science and education is also what led me to become Sweden’s Youth Representative to UNESCO's General Conference and a board member of the Swedish National Commission for UNESCO. I was democratically elected by the National Council of Swedish Children and Youth Organisations to represent all of Sweden’s youth in these forums with my expertise. In these positions, I explored how science and education can be used for peacebuilding and provided my perspectives on these topics.
