About Max William Tocantins

I am a Petroleum Engineer with over 5 years’ experience in the O&G industry. My previous roles have given me experience with drilling programs preparation, risers engineering, well integrity management (SGIP, NORSOK and API) and business development mainly focused on tenders coordination and commercial proposals. Nowadays, I am the Drilling Engineer from Petrobras (6th-gen dual activity drill ship), where my main responsibilities involves ensuring the operations are executed safely and efficiently, drilling equipment maintenance management, rig modification projects, KPIs monitoring for rig’s performance improvement, audits coordination, focal point of non-conformances resolution, hardware/software improvement opportunities, liaising with 3rd parties, amongst others. Strongly believe in volunteer work as means to share knowledge and opportunities within the community, hence I have been involved with SPE since University. Currently, I am responsible for coordinating the Media & Internet department from SPE Brazil Section, together with a very enthusiastic team. I proactively seek ways to facilitate communication within any task/project I’m involved, engage with people to create a collaborative work environment and a mindset focused on results and performance.
