About Max Zinnecker

I am passionate about innovative, sustainable and inspiring architecture that enhances the quality of life for communities and respects the natural boundaries of our planet. I am a driver of change and consider myself a cultural agent. I am an architect with 20 years of experience in sustainable architecture and urban planning. I received my architectural degree at the Federal Institute of Technology (ETH Zurich), one of the top-ranked architecture universities in Europe. For the past 10 years, I worked as lead architect and partner at White Arkitekter in Stockholm, a leader in social sustainability and interdisciplinary research. During this time, I gained broad project experience while focusing on sustainable urban transformation supported by digital technology. My experience ranges over projects in Sweden and Germany, from housing to commercial, serving public and private clients, always with a focus on sustainable architecture, transformation and timber construction. While I was the responsible marketing manager for Germany, a new office was opened in Stuttgart. Besides my practical work I have been teaching sustainable architecture to master’s students at the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH) The academic research focused on critical thinking and urban transformation in Sweden & São Paulo, Brazil, where the students developed regenerative social strategies based on the Sustainable Development Goals.
