About Maxer Lye

Hello, I'm Maxer. I create fiction, mostly in the form of video games and novels. My penchant is dark fantasy and dystopic science-fiction settings and worldbuilding. On the game dev side, my team and I offer concept creation, 3D modeling and rigging, and general illustration services, as well as mercenary coding muscle in Unity and general C#. I greatly enjoy the challenge of designing characters and worlds that straddle a moral grey zone. For instance, a world where a species of, say, pink elves, are brutally hunted and imprisoned by human poachers because their organs are compatible with humans for transplant and can grow back even if surgically harvested. The process is excruciating, but doctors justify it by saying the pink elves will not die from the procedure, but if they do not take the organs from the pink elves, then many humans surely will. In such a setting, if, say, the protagonist's mother needs multiple new organs because a vengeful elf attack on the protagonist's village left her maimed, and the protagonist must now join an elf-poaching expedition, then arguably there is no longer any clear-cut right or wrong. Only shades of grey, with some blacker than others. These are the types of scenarios I take exceptional satisfaction in crafting. So if that's the type of work you need done - I'm your man.
