About Maxim Basin

A certified swim instructor, I bring over 30 years’ experience to the swim academy. I am passionate about teaching kids and helping them grow into confident and skilled swimmers. I have worked with all age groups from ages 3 through adult. I have been a pool operator for over 25 years and a certified lifeguard instructor. I have spent my life swimming on various swim teams and high school teams. I seek opportunities for growth in programs and have started swim teams from the ground up. My ability to multi-task has led me to a successful career in running and operating multiple programs and facilities. I have worked with the Y for over 20 years, Parks and Rec, as well as other private swim organizations. When the opportunity presented itself, I am a devoted husband and father of 2, jumped at the prospect to bring something new and exciting to Finksburg. The chance to own and operate my own establishment has always been a dream and through the support of his family and friends the dream has become a reality. I wanted to create a place with a family feel and ensure that my sons, and others, had a place to learn to flourish and swim properly. Swimming is more than a sport; it is a life skill and oftentimes a skill that can save your life. I am committed to nurturing swimmers young and old and developing a love for the water.
