About Maxim Shlykov

My name is Maxim Shlykov and currently I conduct lectures on mathematics. Here you will read some interesting facts about me: I graduated from “Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (State University)”. I am qualified with PhD in Applied Mathematics and Theoretical Physics. I had been working scientist for 12 years in the field of Solid State Physics. I bet you are afraid of these entire weird things you could have heard about physics and mathematics. It's not such a bad experience after all. Before I started to work in Adriatic College I had been working in specialized mathematical school with Olympiad syllabus in particular. I left science in favour of pedagogy gradually shifting to the educational field of interest because I like teaching and working with students. They energize me very much. I believe having substantial experience in teaching students allows me to bring significant impact on the learning community. Actually, I started working at school not by chance definitely. I was invited to have a practice in one of Moscow’s math schools. That was incredibly impactful collaboration that facilitated the process of becoming a professional teacher. Now I believe the most important things at school are students and teachers to be said literally. School is people that it consists of. Despite all the modern devices and equipment, cool programs and up-to-date tendencies, it's still by no means important in comparison with human resources. I do believe that my subject is necessary for students, because mathematics is everywhere and you acquiesce to this fact. Actually mathematics fosters critical thinking, responsibility and scientific perception of reality. Apart from my job, a lot of interesting things are going on in my life I like basketball and sport generally, biking, hiking. I like travelling and leading an active lifestyle :) When I have free time I’m often into computer or board games. I'm keen on Science Fiction and some other cool stuff.
