About Maxim Strashun

A transplanted Canadian in Europe, Maxim is a Learning and Development Leader for the Global Solutions & Services Group at Lenovo, a multinational Chinese company and world's largest PC company. His background is in management and talent development. Maxim has lived and worked in Central Europe for the past 23 years. Maxim’s strength is in supporting the business by setting up Learning and Development strategy and processes that help managers, senior managers and leaders become better at leading their people, help the company reach its potential and engage its people more. He has a unique combination of 3 aspects:*understanding HR role and issues *designing strategies, management development programs and systems and *the experience of delivering their components (AC and DCs, training, problem-solving and leader assimilation workshops). In his past HRP position, Maxim supported EMEA and WW sales and supporting teams. As an L&D professional, Maxim ran talent and management development for people in EMEA and before that he took care of people development for 700 people at Bratislava shared-service center. He created the strategy and processes, ran intensive High-Potential and management development programs, delivered training (including training internal trainers), managed external suppliers and worked on OD projects with EMEA HR team. As an L&D professional, Maxim designed and taught an intensive 1-year program for discovering in-company management potential for shared-service center in Bratislava. He then ran a 1.5 year-long program for all managers at the site. Recently, Maxim created and ran a 1-year EMEA-wide development program for senior manager top talents (potential future executives). Due to Lenovo’s international environment, Maxim has been fortunate to work with many cultures and deliver management development solutions (training, leader workshops and DCs) around EMEA, Asia-Pacific, China, USA and Brazil. Maxim is an engaging presenter at HR conferences specializing in talent and management topics, he lectures at universities to HR students and faculty and enjoys mentoring and consulting for NGOs that focus on education and development of young professionals and future leaders.
