About Maximillian Westphal

I have a Ph.D. in Biophysics and am a Data Scientist working in genomics. My current research focus is in genomics network construction for identifying treatment targets in cancers and other diseases in order to accommodate our collaborators' needs. Beyond that, I am interested in developing and using computational tools and models to improve patients' outcomes. Over my career, I have used Python, R, bash, and C++ to develop methods for bioinformatics QC and sample identification and models for identifying risk biomarkers across a variety of diseases. In addition, I have published research manuscripts in both industry and academic environments in the fields of bioinformatics, genomics, and medical physics & hl=en). I also have experience communicating results to senior management, writing grants, giving talks, teaching science to laypeople, and training new research associates.
