About Maximus Sanson

My name is Maximus Sanson and I am a senior at the University of Missouri-Columbia, majoring in physics with an emphasis in astronomy with a minor in mathematics. Throughout my degree, I have learned the intricacies of many core physics topics including quantum and classical mechanics, electricity and magnetism, and thermodynamics. I've also been fortunate enough to gain experience in research conduction and methods. Furthermore, the astronomy emphasis has expanded the depth of my knowledge of the physical world. In the process, I've developed skills of astronomical observations, including raw data analyzation and reduction and effective python applications and implementations. I'm also an active member in campus activities and volunteer programs. As president of one club and treasurer of another, I learned vital skills relating to running an organization as well as the importance of proper finance management. Additionally, I'm a partner of the newly created Eclipse Ambassador Program. This has taught me significant skills relating to outreach, the ability to relate complex ideas to an unfamiliar audience, and interpersonal relationships. As a worker of the food industry and a student, I've maintained a very high standard of communication and teamwork, greatly expanding my abilities of conflict resolution and multitasking. I look forward to using the skills and education I've obtained to navigate and grow in a career of physics and astronomy.
