About Maxine Chartier

As a Master of Applied Nutrition student at the University of Guelph, I am deeply committed to the field of nutrition and dietetics with a background in Agriculture. My academic journey has been enriched by practical experiences, including my role as a Dietetic Intern in a clinical setting at a Long-Term Care (LTC) home and at Six Nations Health Services. In the LTC home, I provided nutritional care to residents, gaining valuable experience in clinical nutrition, patient care, and healthcare team collaboration. At Six Nations Health Services, my focus was on community nutrition and food provision. I designed and implemented nutrition programs, conducted educational workshops, and managed food provision services, all while respecting and incorporating the cultural values of the Six Nations community. My academic pursuits extend beyond the classroom and the field. I have written a comprehensive research portfolio, honing my skills in qualitative statistical analysis, literature review, and survey design. My research has allowed me to delve deeper into the science of nutrition and its practical applications. I am also skilled in quality improvement, always seeking ways to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the services I am involved in. This continuous improvement mindset, coupled with my academic knowledge and practical experience, drives my commitment to promoting health and well-being through nutrition. As I continue my journey in the field of nutrition and dietetics, I am eager to leverage my skills and experiences to make a positive impact on individual and community health.
