About Maxwell Moreno

Hello! My name is Maxwell Moreno, and I am a young professional looking to expand my experience in the workforce. I graduated from Iowa State University with a bachelors degree in Anthropology and a minor in Linguistics and US Latino Studies. In May I graduated with a master’s degree in Anthropology with a Graduate Certificate in Education for Social Justice. As a professional: I have teaching experience as an instructor at Iowa State University where I have been teaching Intro to US Latino Studies. I also have experience in project management, research, resources development, and community engagement and collaboration. In my work I am passionate about keeping an organized work flow for both my team and I, keeping up to date with data and resources needed for projects, and creating bridges of communication between teams for large scale collaborative projects. As an advocate: It is important to me that my work not only reflects my personal drive to succeed, but that it also reflects my dedication to safe and diverse work environments. As an advocate I am very invested in the safety and well-being of marginalized groups and voices in the work place. An organization’s dedication to diversity should first and foremost represent and reflect the community it is serving. These relationships take time and care to foster but I fully believe they are the key to success. What I can do: • Lead and manage teams for successful project completion. • Formulate creative solutions to bring optimal community interest and engagement. • Network and maintain relationships with multiple organizations for collaborative projects. • Create Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion training curriculum and presentation.
