About Maxwell Willard

As a Senior Software Engineer at Reel and the first full time hire, I design, develop, and operate software solutions that support the company's mission to provide clean and affordable energy to customers. Reel is a leading provider of pooled power purchase agreements that enable customers to access renewable energy sources and save on their electricity bills.I have led the engineering efforts to create a billing system that handles more than 10 GWH of electricity production and consumption per month, a simulation engine that generates business cases for potential contracts, and a data warehouse that stores petabytes of data for carbon emission reporting and customer analytics. I have trained and deployed machine learning models that optimize the company's participation in day-ahead electricity markets. With a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Carleton College, I have a strong foundation in web applications, software development, and software design. I am passionate about environmental sustainability and innovation, and I enjoy working with diverse cross-functional teams to build new cloud-based features and products that make a positive impact on the environment and society.
