About Maya Dunlap
Hi! I am a engineer with many years of research experience in the fields of robotics, haptics, and wearable technology. During this time I've focused mainly on the use of haptics to improve user experiences with telerobotic platforms, specifically in terms on increasing user's percieved presence. To do this I have developed wearable glove, called the HOLD system to multimodally simulate handshakes for teleoperators, which user studies have suggested increases percieved presence significantly over the typical haptic-less condition. I love working in this interdisciplinary area and I hope that it is something I get to do for as long as possible!
