About Maya Gabay

I am an aspiring attorney, currently working part time as a Law Clerk at a boutique civil defense firm while I obtain my law degree through Chicago-Kent College of Law’s J.D. Program. GOALS - In my career, I strive to achieve social justice through my work as a legal advocate. I hope to be known in the legal field for my hard work, and for both my passion and respect for the field of law. I strive to be considered an expert within my industry, and am currently taking the steps necessary to get there. SKILLS - Throughout my time in the legal field, I have obtained an ample amount of skills that I attribute to my success in my role at my current firm. For starters, I am a curious person with a passion to learn. I understand how to approach problems and, through critical thinking, can find a solution in a calm and efficient way. I am a team player, paired with an open mind and a positive attitude, which makes me easy to work with and flexible with sudden changes of direction with any project. I am extremely organized, and paired with the ability to multi-task, I am able to work in high stress environments without any detriment to my tasks at hand. I am a quick learner and a great listener. In my experience within the legal community thus far, I have been fortunate enough to work closely with experienced attorneys who have graciously provided me with great insight into the legal field. I actively refer to their shared wisdom and apply it to all of my assignments. My time in law school has given me the knowledge and experience to thrive in my role in the legal field. Although I am aware that I have so much more to learn, my motivation and passionate work ethic has helped me thrive in my academics and I actively use that same drive in my work, which is apparent in my work product. PERSONAL INTERESTS - I am a fan of live music events and I love to experience whatever the city of Chicago has to offer. I enjoy spending time immersed in nature, and am always looking for new ways to stay active during my down time.
