About Maya Gregory

I am a passionate and driven second year Doctor of Physiotherapy student who is always keen to learn and grow. I am a Communications, Events and Engagement Officer at the University of Melbourne for Melbourne School of Health Sciences (MSHS). I promote MSHS events, project management, event manage, write and edit articles and post, organise and coordinate verbal and written communications, and edit the MSHS webpage. My colleagues and teammates know me as determined and motivated, focused on finding new and innovative solutions to problems throughout my journey as a student at The University of Melbourne as well as Kumon Australia & New Zealand, AIESEC, and Youth Action Group. My volunteering experience as an event manager at AIESEC, a youth-led non-profit organisation, has enabled me to develop my public speaking skills and better manage my commitments, and provided me with the opportunity to speak at several international youth events. I have also been able to enhance my organisational skills via planning, creating content, dry running and presenting. I have had experience in delegate servicing, communicating with marketing, logistics and agenda management. Later as promotions and engagement manager, I was able to practice communication in various platforms and scenarios, as well as run one on one meetings with our participants as a mentee for their personal and leadership development. I gained experience in interpersonal skills, time management and empathy. My interests include music, art, hiking, exploring and trying new things! I'm dependable and hardworking, and can quickly pick up new skills and apply them efficiently. As an advocate for personal development, I continuously aim to learn new skills and build my competency in a range of areas, enabling me to be well-rounded.
