About Maya Hayes

Maya Hayes is a driven individual with a strong educational background in social work. She is currently studying at UT Austin as she pursues the MSSW program within the administration and policy practice concentration. In addition to her academic achievements, Maya has also taken on the role of secretary for a women's empowerment organization on campus during her undergrad, highlighting her commitment to community involvement and advocacy. She is also working towards improving her Spanish as she is at the intermediate level. Within her last year of undergrad, she completed two internships - the Racial Justice Organizer Internship where she creates and conducts events on campus on topics of professionalism, life skills, and mental health, and a social work internship where she is involved in case management, recruitment, and conducting presentations. These experiences have allowed Maya to develop her skills in communication, organization, and advocacy. Maya Hayes is a well-traveled individual who has explored various parts of the United States and ventured to a few countries outside the US, including a study abroad trip to Costa Rica focused on immersion and community service.
