About Maya Jane Malins

Passionate about art and education, I bring a diverse background in customer service, gallery curation, and academic tutoring. Currently, I serve as a Bartender at Lone Wolf Lounge, where I've honed my customer service skills while pursuing my academic interests. As a Gallery Assistant at Laney Contemporary Fine Art, I excel in cataloging and promoting artworks while facilitating engaging events for patrons and artists alike. My experience as a Peer Tutor at Savannah College of Art and Design allowed me to mentor students in art history and research, fostering a positive learning environment both in-person and online.Previously, I interned at Georgia Historical Society, where I digitized and organized archival materials and interpreted at the Jepson Center for the Arts where I delivered captivating tours to diverse audiences. My educational journey includes a Master of Arts in Art History from Savannah College of Art and Design, where I was awarded a Graduate Fellowship for academic excellence. During my studies, I served as a Teaching Assistant and conducted in-depth research for my thesis on 17th-century sculptural representations of female martyrs.I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Art History with a minor in Studio Art from Georgia Southern University, graduating Summa Cum Laude. My academic achievements include presenting at the Student Scholars Symposium and completing a thesis on the intersection of art and spirituality. With a strong foundation in art history, customer service, and academic mentorship, I am eager to contribute my skills and passion to new opportunities in the academic world.
