About Maya McOmie

I am a writer and teacher with a background in English literature and creative writing. My main areas of experience are in education, editing, writing, including several publishing and literary organizations in Portland, OR, and have worked for alternative newspapers and literary journals as both a writer and a copy editor. In addition, I have worked in localization and translation fields. I have strong attention to detail and have experience coordinating with a team, training others on tasks, and can balance leadership with teamwork. I adapt quickly to new environments, information and skills. I am a native English and Japanese speaker and am good with languages and understanding nuance. I work best in collaborative, challenging and creative environments where people with shared interests and goals work together through direct communication and individual assessment.
