About Maya Melkote

Hi, I’m Maya, and ever since I was 15, watching Chandler Bing run around that hilariously purple living room trying to come up with a slogan for a shoe, I've known marketing was the industry for me.At the time, I was constantly complimented on my writing and I loved the "idea" of math, but not math itself, even though I had no idea what that meant. As the years passed and I set out to understand my true feelings about math, I discovered a whole area of marketing that mixes strategy and numbers with a little bit of creativity. And there it was! It doesn't matter how I feel about math, because I like the way numbers turn into data, data turns into charts, and charts tell a story. I love being the messenger of that story and more importantly, I love the meetings I'm in; fueling the copywriters and creatives with the limitations (or wings) of the data, building off of each other until we exceed our KPIs.Whether it's hands on keyboard, small in-platform tweaks or larger company strategy conversations, I'm excited about it all the same. So here I am, years after I first saw that episode, still thinking "could this BE any more perfect!"
