About Maya Miller

As a passionate educator and hospitality professional, I strive to immerse myself in environments where I can combine my skills. I believe in sharing skills and educating others in a symbiotic style, always looking for learning opportunities. I do best in alternative environments where I can be active and have a chance to see and breath outside air. During my time in college, I learned an immense amount about the hospitality industry inside the classroom. Participating in Hawaii's hospitality industry gave a me a great opportunity to practice those skills. My creative essence pushed me to start my own business event coordinating and providing bar services. This was a memorable experience because it gave a stream of income while allowing me to express myself. As the world became locked down, I felt the strong urge to connect with those around the globe and after training, I began teaching English online to non-native speakers. Teaching English uncovered a talent and passion I began to fully pursue. Since then I have had the chance to teach in various settings, to varying abilities and different subjects, even swimming and surfing. To be a successful educator one must also have a yearning to learn.
