About Maya Robertson

I am a Spring 2026 candidate of the Doctor of Education (Ed.D.)- Higher Education Administration and Management program at Grambling State University of Grambling, Louisiana. My expertise and knowledge in higher education, sports administration and compliance, and student development allow me to add value to any college or university through an understanding of special projects, such as student development, contract management and administration, and general research as it relates to postsecondary education and National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) programs. I have extensive experience in software packages and am familiar with office equipment, Microsoft Office products, and various computer programs and databases. My research focuses on understanding disengagement between the social norms, cultural outlines, and class values of education institutions and underrepresented learners. I received my Bachelor of Science in Arts & Leisure Studies in 2017 from Northwestern State University (NSU). Also, I was a part of the NSU Cross Country, Track & Field teams. As a student-athlete, I gained self-discipline, integrity, teamwork, and superb education, all of which I have carried throughout my career. As a Master of Science graduate of Grambling State University's Kinesiology, Sport and Leisure Studies program, I worked with other students to compete at the 2020 National Sports Forum Case Competition in Atlanta, Georgia. My graduate internship also allowed me to travel abroad to Ghana, which gave me valuable experience in student and professional development, public/media relations, and collaborative strategies in technology and higher education.
