About Maya Russell

Combing her interests in commercial and fine art Maya started professionally in Advertising. As an art director and designer she was at ground level for many large brand campaigns across a broad spectrum of sectors. A desire to garner greater insight and control into marketing campaign strategy lead Maya to join RBC's head office team. Within RBC's Credit Card business she managed several retention initiatives while maintaining oversight over the group's advertising activities. After just a few years with the financial organization Maya joined RBC's internal Advertising & Sponsorship team which managed campaign development for all of RBC Banking. During that time she worked on several of RBC's national Olympic Sponsorship campaigns while maintaining a portfolio of annual banking campaigns including; Cards, Home Equity, Cultural Markets and Environment.A global re-branding effort by RBC lead to Maya's direct involvement in brand positioning and communication strategy. After helping successfully launch the campaign internally and externally Maya was promoted to Director of Advertising a short but well loved position in which she oversaw the development of all of RBC's Banking product and Corporate Brand advertising. A rethinking of RBC's current Brand group structure allowed Maya to acquire the post of Head, Brand Management a position which allowed her oversight and involvement over RBC's full suite of global brands as well as maintaining involvement in RBC's Corporate Brand advertising campaigns. A few years ago a review of personal priorities lead Maya to re-invest her efforts and time to Family allowing her to; leave RBC, relocate to her hometown of Ottawa, reacquaint with relatives and with personal interests and passions long lost. Maya has recently started back with RBC and is currently in Toronto and working with the Personal & Commercial Banking, Brand & Sponsorship team.
