About Maya Small

I am a recent graduate from Wake Forest University, where I earned my B.S. in Health and Exercise Science. During my time at WFU, I served as an undergraduate intern at Healthy Exercise and Lifestyle Programs, a program that works to prevent chronic disease in the surrounding community. Additionally, I enjoyed volunteering at Senior Services where I was able to provide support and cognitive stimulation to the participants. I am currently a medical assistant at The Virginia Spine Institute where I am responsible for preparing injections, assisting in injection and regenerative procedures, as well as patient care during routine office visits. These opportunities have not only validated my interest in the medical field but also have revealed my passion for helping others. I welcome any opportunities that allow me to interact with patients and further my first hand experience in the medical field.
