About Maya Stitski
Maya Stitski holds a PhD in Cultural Studies from Queen’s University, where she teaches in the Dan School of Music. She also teaches at Humber College in the Faculty of Liberal Arts & Sciences. She holds a Masters degree from the London School of Economics in Gender and Social Policy and a BAHon from Queen’s University in Political Studies. Her forthcoming book titled "Moving the Academy to Hip Hop Music: Repurposing Canadian Universities with Black Radical Traditions"(Bloomsbury Press) addresses how Black Canada is a contested historical site that informs learning practices. She connects these practices to radical classroom spaces founded on Black activism.
