About Maya Stricker

I am a dedicated and creative engineering student seeking career-development opportunities in medicine, bio-engineering, and environmental engineering. I pursued engineering with a vision to apply potential bioengineering solutions to agricultural sustainability, biomedical innovation, and wildlife conservation. I am particularly fascinated by tissue engineering and nanotechnology. I have experience on multiple engineering design teams working on carbon footprint solutions, soft robotics, FIRST robotics, and formula vehicles. I have volunteered in mentoring, graphic design, education, and community services. I have experience working in several laboratories for academic and industry research ranging from NANO-fabrication, to chemical process engineering. In a twist of fate, experiencing these various work fields has made me realize how important it is to me to find a career that can have a positive impact on my community. This combined with my passion for life-long learning and biological studies has driven me to pursue medicine. While a daunting and long journey, I feel more determination and direction than ever and I hope I may someday help those most vulnerable in our communities.
