About Maya Wise

I aim to use communication in all forms—visual, written, and verbal—to build bridges that expand understanding and strengthen connections between people. I believe in the power of creativity and empathy as a driving force. As a filmmaker, I work to amplify underrepresented voices and shed light on the universalities of the human experience through both documentary and narrative pieces. A resourceful creative producer and thoughtful writer, I adeptly balance the creative vision, the nuances and integrity of the story, and the practical needs to bring it to life. For much of my career I've focused on health and education, where the divides are wide and there is a dire need to build effective bridges between the many facets of a complicated system. I've led multimedia advocacy campaigns, directed content strategy for healthcare companies, and developed systems to better inform and empower patients and consumers.
